In watchmaking, fake Rolex the past often exchanges with the present.
Today the vast majority of brands incorporate styles and lines of the past, but for traditional manufactures such as Audemars Piguet just look at the house.
2020 novelty, as you can guess also from the name Audemars Piguet [Re] master01 is the remake of a 1943 Maison chronograph, but not a historical re-edition as they underline at Le Brassus.
Audemars Piguet vintage chronographs are very rare watches: between the 30s and the 50s the manufacture claims to have built only 307 and the [Re] master01 is the first reinterpretation project of the past.
Aesthetics
The design is identical to that of reference 1533 of 1943.
The 40 mm steel case is round with handles whose teardrop profile is not found in the recent Code 11.59 but not in all the catalog watches of the last 10 years. Bezel and beveled pushers are in 18 k gold to recall the dial which in turn is reproduced with another shade with a leather strap.
The design of the dial, which is also faithful to the reference model, shows the tachymeter scale in the most distal part and the minute scale immediately inside.
The [Re] master01 has slightly recessed counters keeping the indication of 4/5 of the original clock above the 15 minutes index inside the 30 minutes counter positioned at 9 o’clock to allow reading up to 45 minutes.
This function was requested by Jacques-Louis Audemars (1910 – 2003), member of one of the two third generation founding families, to indulge his passion for football and indicate the first half of a game.
Movement
On this journey from the past to the present Audemars Piguet [Re] master01 an automatic winding movement was procured with the function of a chronograph governed by a mechanism with a vertical engagement column wheel. The caliber 4409 offers the flyback or retour en vol function which by pressing a single button allows you to reset the central sphere of the seconds making it restart instantly.
As expected from an Audemars Piguet, the replica watches uk movement is carefully finished: The perlage is present on the front and back as well as the bevels on the angular elements. The oscillating mass in 22-carat rose gold is satin-finished and decorated in Clous de Paris.
First Impressions
