This is one of those posts that allows you to have a look at what we’re thinking about these days. I’m not gonna go into any great lengths about the history of the Mark XI pilots watches like I did here with the early Rolex Daytona. But, I will just show you two awesome watches that came across my desk recently – two original Mark XI pilots watches from two different manufactures.
What makes them interesting, beyond the obvious ties to true navigators during war-time years, is that while fake IWC continues to make watches in this vein, Jaeger-LeCoultre does not. Just something to consider.
You can see from the issue numbers on the back, the JLC dates to 1948 while the IWC is from 1952, under the same contract specifications. Again, you’ll hear more about these early pilots replica watches uk wristwatches shortly, but for now, just sit back and revel in the awesomeness of two, straight from original family military watches.
