We all knew it was coming, we just didn’t know in what form. Today in New York City, TAG Heuer CEO Jean-Claude Biver introduced the brand’s very first connected wristwatch. The TAG Heuer replica watches uk Connected is a 46 mm watch that looks very much like the new mechanical Carrera with Caliber 01 inside, but instead of a self-winding, Swiss-made movement, we have a Google-powered operating system.
The watch takes the shape of a modern TAG Carrera, with a 46 mm case made of grade 2 titanium, complete with titanium deployant buckle. The stock black rubber strap may be swapped to a host of different colors, and the watch looks and feels very much like any TAG. However, there are no chronograph pushers here, just one crown that acts as the control center for the connected timepiece.
The watch features three different TAG Heuer faces – a true chronograph, a three hander, and a GMT – and the chronograph works by tapping the screen once to start and stop, and twice for resetting. It is important to note that this is not a hybrid at all, but rather a true smartwatch. There is nothing mechanical about it.
The price of the Android powered fake Tag Heuer Connected smartwatch will be $1,500 and it will be available for purchase in the U.S. at TAG stores and online today. The cleverest thing about the entire watch is that after the two-year plan on the TAG Heuer Connected watch is up, any owner may trade it in to a TAG retailer, and for an additional $1,500, receive a mechanical Carrera in its place. An interesting feeder program if there ever was one.
Oh, and to answer your #watchnerd question: the watch cannot be “Swiss Made” because the movement is digital, but the case is indeed Swiss made – a nice touch, certainly.
